Japanese Food @ Jopin Restaurant, Queensbay Mall

Jopin Restaurant located in Queensbay Mall near Maybank/Palace of India wing. I believe it is a japanese styled restaurant.

I ordered the #24, teriyaki chicken set. Food here makes me compare with Yaki Teppan of Sg. Nibong.

Set menu comes with drinks. I ordered Pepsi while V ordered diet coke.

The teriyaki set comes in miso soup, cabbage+carrot thousand island salad, cucumber slices, cold mash potatoes, teriyaki chicken and a bowl white japanese rice.

We ordered Gyoza too as appentizer. But apparently Gyoza served last. Probably it takes longer to pan fried it till crisp. Gyoza here not that tasty. So order at caution.

A closer look at teriyaki chicken. Teriyaki chicken here tasted good. Almost the same but just a little better than Yaki Teppan.

A japanese styled garlic fried rice for V.

V and me sharing the dessert. Dessert is wheat sweet tooth. Taste good.

Overall, food quality is okay. But I prefer Yaki Teppan over Jopin. If we compare prices, Yaki Teppan is more affordable. However, do note that Jopin's environment is nicer than Yaki Teppan, so come here to enjoy the place and food, don't just eat and pay the bill like we do.

Great Italian Food @ Bella Italia, Jalan Burma

Bella Italia located along Jalan Burma, same row as Haggen Dazz and Segafreddo Coffee. It can be easily noticed that it is an italian food restaurant by its logo which uses the Italy flag colours (green, red and white).

Environment here is sort of romantic and dark. Not a good place for photo shoot. But definitely a good place to be in for its food or its mood. I brought my SLR, but decided to use the camera phone as my flash would be too obvious and camera phone's LED light is just nice.

Appetizer for the dinner is 1/2 dozen New Zealand fresh half shell mussels topped with diced tomatoes, cheese and garlic butter cream sauce. Yummy.

Spagetthi with prawns, asparagus, clams topped with chilli flakes served with garlic gravy. My main course of the day. This is the best garlic gravy spagetthi I ever tasted (not the best spagetthi though, Pizza Uno's Marinara White is still the best).

Fettuchini carbonara with ham bits and mushroom of V's. The only comment I heard is, Pizza Uno's is still better. Sigh. Wondering why Pizza Uno don't open a branch in Penang.

Last but not least, to complete our meal, Italian meal can't be complete without a taste of tiramisu. This particular cake tasted very good and highly recommended. However, if you are looking for more authentic tiramisu with wine and heavier cappucino taste, this is not the one.

Bella Italia Ristorante:
368-1-7, Jalan Burma, Belissa Row, 10350 Penang.
Tel: 604-2272195

Grande Java Chips @ Starbucks Coffee

Last evening, there is an urge of having a real nice cup of coffee. Hence we go to Starbucks Coffee in Qbay to fill the urge. Starbucks Coffee Shop from outside.

The coffee ordered is Java Chips. It is very nice with coffee, chocolate chips, crushed ice well blended together. Christmas is around the corner, as starbucks starts to use the cup with snow flakes printed on it.
