Chinese-style Dinner @ Starview, New World Park, Penang

Starview Restaurant located in New World Park.
This restaurant is a favourite place for many older generation of Penang folks.
Especially eating chinese style dishes. Also known as eat table. Jiak Tok.

Two branches of Starview RestauranT. Phone number printed.

Photo concept copy from Kok Howg.
Some of the attendees of the dinner.
KL, SH, SK...

Today we have representatives from Jabil, Avago, Agilent, Intel and Motorola. :)

Our task today is to finish these....
9 dishes....

We took 2 1/2 hours to finish them. Why so long? Not because we cannot eat fast.
Each dish is trailing by 15-20 mins. :(

5 season for a typical starter. Don't remember what is this already.

Fish ball with crabstick wrapped with seaweed. Just normal.

Fish with sweet sauce. This is the best of 5.

Another fish. Not bad.

Fake 5 season. Middle one is just pure salad.

Here comes the 2nd dish. As usual, shark fin soup. But this shark fin soup is unusual in a way. Read on..

Each person has exactly one bowl. Can see its crab meat? Also included is sea cucumber. Not shown.

Here comes the unusual part. Its shark fins is not the string type. It is in a row stick together. It is 鲍翅. More expensive due to this.

N3xt.... Starview's speciality. Roast chicken with almond.

One side is chicken skin, middle is fish ball, bottom is almond flakes. Special but not exactly tasty. Taste so-so only.

Can see the fish ball, almond flakes and chicken skin?

Buddha student mixed vege in yam basket. The yam is very soft. Not bad.

Fried Tong Po Pork. Typical tong po pork cooked in soy sauce style.
This is different. It is fried. Special and nice.

Tong Po Pork is pork section which has fats and lean meat in one. This particular picture showning a more lean meat piece.

The meat dipped with typical duck sauce prior for consumption.

Soy sauce king prawn. V say this is very nice.

Prawn lightly stir fried and coated with soy sauce king.
A light sweet taste.

Longetivity noodle with prawns and veges.

Whole peeled prawn in the noodle itself. The noodle can be slightly nicer if the noodle used has better texture. I expect more from a restaurant like this.

Still oversea restaurant in Ipoh cooked the best longetivity noodle.

Honey dew sago dessert with Longan. Dissapointing dessert. Skip this if you can.

A sweet tooth which typically goes with Red Bean tongsui. A thinly skin wrapping the lotus paste core.

Zoomed in to check the layered texture.

Last but not least, it is pay-up time.

So much money on the table.

A long dried rose from my registration day with V. Looks like got to throw away soon. Fungus starts to grow already.

Field of sugar on the dried cuttlefish.

Popiah. (thin skin wrap with veges)

Uncle Looi's Rojak. Crunchy bits with dripping rojak sauce.

Crunchy biscuits.

Strawberry from Jusco. Nice to see but very sour. With flash.

Same strawberry without flash.

Sylvester J. Pussycat, Sr. Photoshots @ Home

Out of passion, I shoot some photos using Sylvester as model few weeks ago. Didn't post it till now.

Sylvester shot using self-made white box.
No flash fired.

Sylvester thinking...

Sylvester thinking... full body. Flash fired.
