Char Koay Teow & Pineapple biscuits

I went to char koay teow (fried noodle) at macalister road with my aunt last week. This is a famous stall hence priced at rm4 per plate. Tasted okay but i prefer lorong selamat's slightly more.

My mother's home made pineapple biscuit. I felt the taste of previous year is better. The pineapple filling is made from scratch. When i in kl, i help her make before several years back.

Satay and all about satay, Ah Basri @ D'Piazza Mall, Bayan Baru

Satay wrap. It taste a little like popiah. Looks a little like kfc wrap. A fusion between east and west.

Frankly, I like the old kampung style stall back in Sg. Ara before they moved to this new location.

Gigantic mandarin orange

During chinese new year, eating or having mandarin oranges are a must. This year my aunt bought extra large mandarin oranges. This is the largest i have seen. It is three quarter the size of a cd!

paper bag discrepancy @ eu yan sang

Wondering what is the difference between penang and ipoh? This year v and me are getting multiple eu yan sang products for our relatives. To our surprise, eu yan sang ipoh is not only having less discount, it also charges for the paper bag on the left. The small paper bag shown cost rm3 while the big one cost rm5. Of course mine is free from penang. Penang eu yan sang rocks. If eu yan sang main office wanna investigate, the ipoh eu yan sang i just mentioned is ipoh garden plaza branch. Hate to see double standard on chain stores.

Meesuah from teochew meng. Doesn't looks nice but taste good. Doesn't come cheap though. Cheapest is rm10++.

Thaipusam 2010 Mild version @ Waterfall, Penang

Thaipusam is a festival celebrated by our Malaysian Indian community. It is a day to worship the deity. 

My team has a visitor from India and according to him, it seems like thaipusam isn't a big festival in India.

 The speciality of Thaipusam is about its people. Our fellow friends here are dancing along with the music.

Male, female, young and old. All come for the worship. These ladies are on the walk to the temple.

Young kids are happy today. These two kids are going to have a long walk towards the temple. I am not sure what is the actual purpose of putting the silver jar on the head. It seems to be some sort of effort to get blessed or give thanks after being blessed.

Here are we in front of the temple. A devotee just came out from the temple and ready to mount his kawadee again.

It is a norm to smash an old coconut after a kawadee lifter comes out from temple. 

Here is one of it. My camera was splashed with coconut water in order to get this shot.

Btw, there is a paid shoe keeping service. These are those whom not paying for it only.

On our way out, we saw more kawadee and devotee.

As usual for any events or celebration, there will be piles of rubbish/garbage waiting to be cleaned. No garbage bin found nearby so many people just throw it here. I hope that MPPP (Penang civil council) do a good job in cleaning up these.

All in all, I am very happy to see the spirit of Thaipusam living and alive in Penang. I am sure Batu Caves in KL would be exciting too.

Lunch @ Jusco, Queensbay

Had an abnormal meal last weekend. Although all from jusco, there are from different stalls. Oyster Meesuah from taiwan shihlin snack, passion fruit drink from auntie anne, chicken wantan soup which taste bad from arena food court.

It is located along Macalister Road (next to sister char koay teow / opposite Loh Guan Lye)

We are most impressed by its collection of bridal gown. Best of all, they are almost non-clasified. So we can choose whichever we want. So don't have to worry about upgrading the gown class or so. I say almost because it still has platinum class which basically means totally new gown. 

Their captured photos look pretty nice too. Especially viewed on the Apple iMAC :) I think iMAC really makes the photo looks nicer is some way.
