Spring flowers & Birds @ Riverplace, Portland

Bird standing next to the river. I am enduring the coldness of the weather to take these pictures.. <10>

Bird flying. Zoom to see the wing's details.

Bird flying.

I am not the only fella shooting the flowers there. So many professionals. Mine were one of the lousy camera. All use Manfrotto tripod. They are really rich.

Sakura?

Nice! :)

Upside down?

Feels like lost in focus. Too messy picture?

Here comes a new one.

Flower. Most of it not yet bloom. I probably revisit the next week.

White and pink flowers.

Blooming flowers. Zoom to see details.

Flower on flash. Background seems too bright.

Just feels like picnic here. Sit down and enjoy the view.

Great bargain @ Sears, Washington Square

Sears has huge discount till today (28 March 2009). I got this two items at 80% discount.
The first one is winter jacket for USD31.99 (normal price USD160). Another item is fleece glove for USD4.99 (normal price USD 25).
It is a great bargain I think. Really worth it.
Sorry for the improper lighting of the photo. Kinda wanna take and upload it fast as V can't wait to see the pics. So didnt use external flash, just used the pop-up instead.
Same items at another angle.

Dinners @ Shari and Gustav

Gustav serves German food. It is located here Washington Square. This is meat ball wrapped with cabbage and potatoes served in thin tomato soup. Alvin order this item.

Turkey breast served with potatoes. Javier ordered this.

Something of everything for me. The sausage is good.

Multiple variant of mustard sause for dip.

Tri-flavor sausage served with pickled vege and onions.

My "seafood platter", forgotten the actual name, which consist of cod fish, prawns and potatoes from Shari's.

Shari's special potatoes soup. This tasted great. Although a little filling.

Quick post for trip to US

This is a quick post for V to see. It is spring time now. Flowers starts to bloom. But most of the trees are still naked.

Another trees.

Trees without leaves and flowers. Most are like this.

Heheheh. V likes this ice cream too. Expensive. HKD 59 for this.
Ben n Jerry. I wanted this after the lousy food god char siew rice below.

Looks nice taste bad's food god char siew rice from HK airport.

Burmese Temple @ George Town

A coconut tree at Burmese Temple.

The same coconut tree.

Leaf backlit by sunlight. Enhancing the texture of the leaf.

Burmese boy carrying a bell. Not sure what it means though.

Multi-features animal guarding the world. Head of dragon, leg of horse, wings of eagle, nose of elephant etc.

Wooden lion shot with zooming effect.

St. Something Church @ George Town, Penang

Actually the background building is not the church. But somehow this middle "hut" and the behind building (is it the court?) kinda match each other. Does it looks like US's White House from this angle? The path to the middle "hut" is actually quite short, but looks long if taken from this low level angle.

Personally I kinda like this shot. Too bad spoiled by the vignetting on the top two corners.

Just a dried leaf on the ground. Zoom to see the shot details. Did you ever see a dried leaf that close and that detailed?

A new life on an old tree. Backgrounded by very blue sky. No PS done, no CPL (no money to buy for 62mm and my lens is already vignetting by itself). Just a great bright day.

Jimmy show us the brochure on this Penang attraction. So we copied the style and tried to take a shot like this. +1.7EV exposure compensation because apparently this building is backlit by the sun.

Horse/Donkey? @ Fort Cornwallis

The horse is munching on the grass on a sunny day. Click to enlarge. These pics are 25% of the original size. If you want the actual size, leave a comment with your email.

After that, she poses for the photo shoot session.

Portrait shot of her.

Did she just feel asleep? Seems like not moving already.

Photoshots @ Fort Cornwallis

Chapel's sign. Passer-by foreigner asked what is so special about this sign. Well, I answered it is kinda old has an unique taste of itself. Don't think they understand though. Do you?

One of the old tree in Fort Cornwallis. Three different exposures and framings.

Exposure to capture the blue sky.

Exposure to see more details of the tree. Actually I forgotten to turn of the DR+ (dynamic range plus) function in my camera. I am sure if combine the two shots using HDR technique. These will be a better shots.

A pad lock of very old age. Probably the one used when Sir Francis Light used himself. Zoom in for details. It is written "Best English Make".

Shot of a bird. I like the leaves shined by the sun as background.

Greens.

A flower which looks like lily.

Single cannon.

Majestic cannon array facing towards to sea.
