IIMGP Career Day @ Chung Hwa School

One of the events of Career Day is a task which the students are required to build a bridge. Very similar to the one I built during stress management class. Each group consists of 8-9 students and assigned to one mentor. Everyone is excited and motivated to complete their bridge.

Students were given 45 mins for the design and constructions (Only 20 mins for us last time). The task is to train the students on time management, cost management, engineering design (study the straw) and leadership. Students were evaluated by the strength of the bridge and aspects just mentioned.

This is the strongest bridge of all. Capable of enduring 5 bags of coins. However, this team didnt win the design. Infact, they are second.

Another "table" bridge built by the students. This design is not in the top three but it do shows the innovation design by the fellow students.

Winner of the competition and fellow volunteers. They win because their design can support 5 bags of coins but using less straws and clips than others. Bravo. They even think about the strategy of putting the coins on the bridge. They place all the coins onto the bridge before they let go their hands. Good strategy for winning or nothing.

Here is one of the system on showcase. This is what I do day in day out. Designing the green piece of plastic (in layman's term).
