Shang Hai Ding @ Queensbay Street

If you could live with slightly lower quality Shanghainese food, Shang Hai Ding might be the restaurant for you. It is located near Queensbay Mall, same row as HSBC.

Pricing wise, it is about 50% off Dragon-i. But the taste didnt degrade by 50%.

Above pic is showing fresh blended red chilies, sweet sauce, chinese tea and char choy la mien. Char choy la mien (hand-pulled noodle) is one of the good la mien you can get here.

Bottom pic is showing meat shanghainese mini dumping (there are crab and scallop too, but I didnt order; those are slightly more expensive), fried carrot cake, prawn mai and scallop kau. The fried carrot cake here is no match for dragon-i, so I recommend not to order this unless you are a great fan of carrot cake.

Prawn mai and scallop kau here is average taste. Pricing wise is slightly more expensive than dim sum restaurant like Maxim but it is okay as a side dish. Our main focus here is the shanghainese mini dumping right? Shanghainese mini dumping here is slightly above average but the cost is much cheaper. Hence for price/quality, I will recommend this place.

For those loaded with extra cash, dragon-i might be the place for you. Refer my comment on dragon-i in earlier post.
